Tybee Island Pirate Festival, Coastal Georgia

The Tybee Pirate Festival on Georgia’s Coast near Savannah will feature three days of live music with plenty of family-friendly activities at Tybee Island’s South Beach parking lot on Tybrisa Street. The festivities will kick off with the coronation of the King and Queen at the Buccaneer’s Ball at The Crab Shack on Thursday, Oct. 19.

The Tybee Island Pirate Festival began in 2005 with a small handful of individuals that were looking for a unique event to help boost visitors to the island in the fall months when the beaches are less crowded and the weather is close to perfect. Tybee Island Pirate Fest has been named one of Southeast Tourism Society.

Other activities include the Pirate Victory Parade, Scallywags Costume Contest, Little Matey’s Cove, Thieves Market, the Budlight Pirate Pub with live music, and the addition of several children activities such as a petting zoo, Ferris wheel, Pirate Encampment and Fireworks. There will be plenty of activities for families, an array of entertainment and a Thieves Market filled with treasure.

Tybee Island is a popular beach town only 8 miles east of Savannah on Georgia’s Atlantic ocean coast.
