The Florida Keys Island Fest started as the foodie event “Taste of Islamorada” and has expanded into a weekend jam-packed with not only culinary creations, but also a variety of entertainment, art, car show & family-fun events with highlights including live musical and a juried art show featuring variety of fine arts, jewelry, paintings, etc.
The Florida Keys Island Fest, presented by the Islamorada Chamber of Commerce, has grown in popularity and attendance. Both days feature, artists, classic cars, musicians, excellent cuisine and much more, transforming the bayfront locale into a fun-filled destination everyone. The Arts & Crafts show will feature local and national artists whose work includes a variety of paintings and sculptures to jewelry and fine crafts. Back for another repeat appearance at Island Fest is the All-American Road Vintage Cruisers Car Show, featuring antique cars, trucks, motorcycles and rat rods. The show takes place on both Saturday and Sunday and is visible from US-1. Entry is free and there’s plenty of room for everyone. Unique awards, handcrafted from coconuts, will be presented for the Coolest Cruiser, the Raddest Rod, the Most Keysie Rider, the Big Kahuna, and People’s Choice.
Along with the renowned artists and antique car collectors, a number of popular musical acts will perform at Island Fest, appealing to lovers of various genres ranging from blues to country rock. Kids will have a ball at Island Fest too, from painting a life-sized dolphin statue to building sand castles and competing in the always fun hula hoop contests. And after you’ve worked up an appetite, there’ll be plenty of food to satisfy your hunger at Island Fest. On Sunday we’ll have the popular Taste of Islamorada, a delicious competition showcasing the dishes of local restaurants. The ever-popular Isla Marauder Rum Punch stand will be back in 2015, too. There is No Admission Fee to the Florida Keys Island Fest.
Islamorada consist of 6 islands in the Florida Keys and is known for its prime sport fishing; hence, fresh seafood is the hallmark of the Islamorada dining scene. For an additional dose of culture, take in the fine arts and music while strolling through the Morada Way Art and Cultural District.
